What is play therapy?
PLAY THERAPY UTILIZES THE NATURAL LANGUAGE OF CHILDREN(PLAY) TOWARDS BUILDING A TRUSTING THERAPEUTIC RELATIONSHIP TO ADDRESS AND RESOLVE THEIR OWN PROBLEMS.
WellSpace Play Therapy utilizes play-based interventions in different ways, including art, sand and toys. WellSpace Play Therapy utilizes play therapy to promote, educate, and bring forth the superhero in us all!
What better way to talk about difficult feelings than to use a modality that makes you feel comfortable and elevates your mood? And the ability to use the whole body for playful expression can assist with helping the child learn how to self-sooth and self-regulate, in turn decreasing anxiety, depression and disruptive behaviors.
For more information on this approach visit the website for the Association for Play Therapy.

Our Resident Emotional Support Dog

Currently, Theo is completing training to make sure he is up to date on all the wonderful and playful ways to assist children in counseling as a certified animal assistant. Don't be afraid to say hello to Theo if you see him around the office! Theo loves belly rubs, running, jumping, and helping children manage their emotions.
