Daycare Assessments

As a parent, your child’s emotional and mental wellbeing is just as important as their physical health. That’s why we offer on-site mental health consultations or daycare assessments at your child’s daycare, provided by our caring and qualified counselors.

Although this service isn't covered by insurance, we strive to keep the rate affordable! Our goal is to support your child’s social, emotional, and behavioral development in a familiar setting where they feel safe. These services are designed to be supportive—not intrusive—and always with your consent and involvement.

If you have questions about how your child is adjusting, managing emotions, or interacting with others, we're here to help—compassionately and confidentially.

    • Observations and gentle check-ins with your child during their regular daycare day

    • Guidance and support for daycare staff to promote a positive, nurturing environment

    • One-on-one consultations with you, the parent, to discuss any concerns or questions

    • Helpful strategies to encourage your child’s confidence, communication, and coping skills.

We even go a step further and offer helpful insight and training to daycare staff!!

Therapist and child building emotional skills through play therapy in Madison and Huntsville, Alabama

What is play therapy?

PLAY THERAPY UTILIZES THE NATURAL LANGUAGE OF CHILDREN(PLAY) TOWARDS BUILDING A TRUSTING THERAPEUTIC RELATIONSHIP TO ADDRESS AND RESOLVE THEIR OWN PROBLEMS.

WellSpace Play Therapy utilizes play-based interventions in different ways, including art, sand and toys. WellSpace Play Therapy utilizes play therapy to promote, educate, and bring forth the superhero in us all!

What better way to talk about difficult feelings than to use a modality that makes you feel comfortable and elevates your mood? And the ability to use the whole body for playful expression can assist with helping the child learn how to self-sooth and self-regulate, in turn decreasing anxiety, depression and disruptive behaviors.

For more information on this approach visit the website for the Association for Play Therapy.
